In today’s world, RTP’s singular voice in the community is needed now more than ever. We stand at the vital intersection in a time in our nation’s history where much progress has been made, and yet so many obstacles to equality remain.

We must not rest. We must be vigilant. We must be active. We must go all out to speak our truth. We must go all out to amplify our voice by elevating our performance, strengthening our foundation, and leading the dialogue in our community around LGBTQ+ issues with the same emotion, humor, authenticity and effectiveness we’ve always brought to our storytelling. The stage is set. The challenge is clear. So if you’re in for a stronger RTP, get ready to go all out with us.

Coming to our shows is the first step. Consider making an even deeper commitment to RTP with a contribution to our Annual Fund, or to one of our special designated funds.

A gift of stocks, mutual funds, or bonds that have been held for at least one year can be a great way to help, save on taxes, and receive a charitable deduction.

Despite our shows regularly playing to full houses, the most that comes from earned revenue at Richmond Triangle Players is approximately 60-65% of our yearly total; the remaining amount comes from people (like you!) in the form of Annual Gifts. These gifts not only help keep our ticket prices affordable, but also provide their donors with exclusive benefits that can enrich their relationship with RTP and then enjoyment of our productions.

SUPPORT THE CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW WORK

As a part of our recently completed capital campaign, RTP founder John Knapp and his husband Tim Gillham graciously endowed a new fund to support the creation and development of new LGBTQ work, especially musical theater work. RTP audiences will start seeing the fruits of that investment in the 2019-20 season.

Additional gifts to support The John Knapp and Tim Gillham Fund are welcomed and encouraged. For more information contact RTP Executive Director Philip Crosby at crosby@rtriangle.org.

OTHER DESIGNATED FUNDS

Are you interested in one aspect of our work more than another? Is there some part of RTP that you want to ensure continues in the years to come? Your special gift can also be dedicated towards a specific program, capital or educational fund, or our operating reserve. For more information contact RTP Executive Director Philip Crosby at crosby@rtriangle.org.

Did you know it is possible to support Richmond Triangle Players through your will or IRA?

Please help us sustain the work that we do by arranging planning a gift for RTP. Your generosity will enable theatergoers to enjoy shows at RTP well into the future and will help us continue to offer in-depth education programs that directly benefit area high school students. If you choose to include RTP in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you personally for making such a vital and important commitment to Richmond Triangle Players.

Making RTP a beneficiary of your retirement plan is both tax efficient and as easy as changing the beneficiary form with your IRA administrator and designating RTP as a primary, contingent or partial beneficiary.  Or, you can make a bequest through your will, codicil or trust. Here is an example:

I, [insert your name], bequeath the sum of [insert monetary sum or percentage of my residuary estate] to Richmond Triangle Players, 1300 Altamont Ave, Richmond, VA 23230 Tax ID # 62-1513800

Richmond Triangle Players’ Legacy Society honors individuals that have chosen to arrange a planned gift with a value of $5,000 or above. Benefits are life-long and begin as soon as you notify us of your gift and send a copy of the documentation that mentions RTP.  For more information contact RTP Executive Director Philip Crosby at crosby@rtriangle.org
